Golf

The Kootenay Rockies region of BC is, quite simply, a golf lover’s paradise. Many of Canada’s top ranked courses are located here. From Golden to Cranbrook you will find 15 to choose from. Bighorn Meadows Resort is located on the 9th fairway of The Springs in Radium.

Go to the Columbia Valley Golf Trail to view other nearby courses.

Enjoy the rapids of Toby Creek, the fast running Kicking Horse River or you can tempt the boisterous whitewater on the Kootenay River.  Visit Kootenay River Runners located in Radium Hot Springs and plan an adventure that works best for you!

Hiking & Mountain Biking

Hikers and cyclists will find a variety of scenic mountain terrain to explore. There are several well marked trails in the Radium Hot Springs area to choose from, such as the Old Coach Trail in Radium that meanders along the Columbia River. Or visit the Radium Hot Spring’s Information Center for hiking trail maps. Beaches

Nearby, in Invermere, visit the sandy beaches of James Chabot Provincial Park on the north end of Windermere Lake. Also on the lake, visit the Kinsmen Beach and Park.

Snowmobiling

Hundreds of kilometres of unploughed roads and trails within the Purcell and Rocky mountains are available for snowmobiling. Guided tours are available in the area with Toby Creek Adventures if you are not familiar.

Skiing & Snowboarding

Visit the four-season Panorma Mountain Village resort for skiing and boarding this winter or any of these great ski resorts within a 2.5 hour drive from Radium Hot Springs; FairmontKicking Horse (Golden)KimberleyFernieSunshine (Banff) or Lake Louise. Bighorn Meadows central location allows you to ski a different hill each day of your vacation.

Cross-Country Skiing

Nipika Mountain Resort or the trails at Panorama Mountain Village are ideal for cross-country skiing.

Skating

During the winter months you might want to sharpen your skates and head out to the Frozen Windermere Lake and go ice skating on the famous Whiteway, the longest skating track in the world.  Or stop by the local skating rink for a game of ice hockey with the locals.
